They held a Pinewood Derby at church for the Dads. (Really, anyone participated) Jimmy really didn’t have any time to work on one, but we came up with this classic VW Truck. My brothers and I loved this vehicle and it was a rare treat to spot one. We didn’t know what the real name was, we just called them funny bus trucks. They’re a bus in the front and a truck in the back. Like a vehicle version of a mullet!
We won a prize (chocolate bar) for most unique design, and much to our surprise, we actually one a race. It sure looked fine rolling down the track.

I couldn’t decide if I should do a Dodge or VW. The Dodge had some funny headlights, but I thought more people would appreciate a VW. Did you notice that I even painted the rims?

Yeah, I think Ford had a cool one (Econoline) too, but VW has first rights to the name Funny Bus Truck. Were the rims just black spokes?
