I did this canvas for a friend of mine to go in her daughter’s room. It was customized to match the bedding, and hopefully I will get a photo of the painting on the wall in the room

Wetenkamp Stamp!

A friend gave me a stamp carving kit several months ago and I have been waiting for that perfect stamp idea to use it. Jimmy’s mom is a huge Stampin’ Up extraordinaire and her birthday was in July. I thought that surely I could carve a unique stamp that she didn’t have or couldn’t get (which ain’t easy for a Stampin’ Up consultant!) I racked my brain for weeks trying to think of the perfect stamp. I finally came up with a stamp that will probably never actually be used, but is certainly one of a kind. It’s more sentimental than anything. I carved the Wetenkamp family homestead. A place beloved by all. I have to say that it turned out MUCH better than I anticipated given the amount of times the knife slipped and my tongue as well. (not really) I need to get a photo of the stamp itself because it is kind of cool lookin’ too.
